From the Smashing pumpkins and foo fighters, to 311 and porcupine tree, the Tension’s influences are as varied as their music, and the result is a brand new child of old and new alternative rock. The Hartford area four piece Combines various alternative styles with their own brand of fresh alternative grunge rock, and their sound is both original and unique. Matt on bass, and Ben on drums provide a powerful groove and a solid but inventive rhythmic background for Dan’s tasteful riffs and solos, and Xander’s catchy and emotional vocals. The product is a seamless mold of the raw energy of grunge riffage and the calculated experimentation of alternative rock with a live sound and yet tight mix. The Tension have only been together for a little while but they more than make up for it with their dedication and love for what they’re good at.
More than anything The Tension loves simply making music and it comes out in their work and their performances.
