Origin Theory:
Like the random and accidental origin of the universe, The Archetypes spontaneously generated seemingly without reason in the spring of 2006, when a drummer (Ted) and a bass player (Mike) simultaneously decided on a whim that they should both play guitar in a band. They soon recruited a guitarist (Jeremy) to play bass and another drummer (Matt) to play drums, and thus spawned a musical juggernaut that has come to be known as The Archetypes. Led by their fearless leader, Captain Ted Comerford (vocals/guitar/keys), the band has been working furiously on their upcoming album, tentatively untitled, in a sometimes-flooded basement off the cold and rocky Rhode Island coast, somewhere on the Isle of Jamestown. The magmatic forging of Captain Ted’s strings, keys, and vocals, compounded in electric frenzy through the leads of Mike “Cold Hand” Burdon, have recently been mistaken for electrical storms originating somewhere over the polar caps of Mars. Anchored by an earth-shaking, tsunami-producing rhythm section made up of Jeremy “Thod of Gunder” Thomas’s pulverizing bass and Matt “Rabbit Foot” Cavenaugh’s jackrabbit-quickness on the drums, The Archetypes have allegedly been responsible for much of the major tectonic activity off the Atlantic Coast for the last several months. A force of unknown proportions, though proven to be stronger than gravity, electromagnetism, and Buddhism combined, your friendly, neighborhood Archetypes are coming to a town near you…
